Nvidia’s (NVDA) earnings will be a critical test for the AI trade following the stock’s sluggish start to the year. But even if the chip giant beats Wall Street’s lofty expectations, it doesn’t guarantee the stock will regain its lost momentum. In fact, the road ahead is likely to be bumpy as concerns surrounding China’s AI startup DeepSeek, slowing growth, and export restrictions remain potential overhangs on the stock. And that’s prompting Wall Street to send a clear message: brace for a wild ride. “We’re expecting significant volatility … we’ve seen that play out every time,” Raymond James chief market…
Tech companies, data center developers, and power utilities have been panicking over the prospect of runaway demand for electricity in the U.S. in the face of unprecedented growth in AI. Amidst all the hand wringing, a new paper published this week suggests the situation might not be so dire if data center operators and other heavy electricity users curtail their use ever so slightly. By limiting power drawn from the grid to 90% of the maximum for a couple hours at a time — for a total of about a day per year — new users could unlock 76 gigawatts…

Instead the thespians choose chaos.Papal thriller “Conclave” won best ensemble Sunday at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards, beating “Anora” and derailing its best picture momentum after directors’ and producers’ guild wins. By Wayne Cole SYDNEY (Reuters) -European shares and the euro climbed on Monday as Germany’s election produced a mainstream outcome, while Wall Street futures firmed on hopes results from AI diva Nvidia this week would justify the tech sector’s sky-high valuations. EnCharge AI, a semiconductor startup developing analog memory chips for AI applications, has raised more than $100 million in a Series B round led by Tiger Global to spur its next stage of growth. The funding is significant partly because interest in AI is at an all-time high, but the high price of building and operating AI services continues to be a red flag. EnCharge, spun out from Princeton University, believes its analog memory chips — envisioned to be embedded in devices such as laptops, desktops, handsets, and wearables — will not only speed up AI processing, they’ll help bring…
CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Friday walked investors through next week on Wall Street and highlighted earnings reports from Home Depot as well as tech giants Nvidia and Dell. He also discussed the market’s decline over the past few sessions — especially the poor performance of formerly-hot growth stocks — predicting investors haven’t seen the end of the downturn.”Out of nowhere, the momentum stocks had a hideous downturn today. It’s hurt many aggressive growth investors,” he said. “Can this pullback finally run its course? I hope so. If not, my prediction? More of the house of pain.”On Monday, Cramer will be following…
